M9 News Journalist Nishant spoke to director Venu Sriram ahead of the release of his Thammudu on July 4th.
“Thammudu is a passionate project. There is a family drama with good action and technical finesse. It is a perfect theatrical watch. Audience will enjoy it for sure. Every character in the film has a distinct arc. We are confident about the film,” Sriram Venu assured.
He also narrated about the Censor troubles he underwent for the film.
“They asked me to blur every blood shot even though that is not too much. Or they offered me an A certificate. I accepted it instead of blurring every sequence. They even forced to change a name which resembled some real person. I had an argument with them. It is very difficult to make films if things go this way,” Sriram Venu said.
We asked him if the Technical finesse is a Gimmick while the movie is a regular commercial movie (Family Drama + Action).
Sriram Venu also revealed about why he had to commercialize a honest script like Pink for Vakeel Saab.
He admitted that it is his call as a fan while Pawan Kalyan wanted to stick to the script honestly.
“He got a photoshoot done by his makeup team who are from Mumbai with full grey streaks in his beard and hair. He sent me those photos and I was shocked. I could not see him like that. I immediately went to him and changed it,” Sriram Venu.
“Saying story is different from selling a film. So, I had to take the call for Vakeel Saab,” he added.
