Weekend BO: How Did Mad, Robin Do?

Box Office Mad Square Robinhood

Last weekend was a busy one for the Tollywood box office as we saw multiple new films arriving in theatres. Here is a look at the box office, his performance of each of these films.

Firstly, we have Mad Square. This comedy entertainer, which happens to be the sequel for earlier film Madhu turned out to be the winner at the box office.

Despite the rather moderate reviews, this film could bring the audience with its comical promotional material. The makers had communicated that the film had collected over ₹50 crore gross over the weekend.

Then we have Robin Hood, which turned out to be a non-starter. After a poor start on the opening day, the film could not generate much momentum over the weekend, and the overall gross barely touched double digits.

The delay in the release of the film from December to March appears to have played a spoilsport here.

Empuraan is beaming in Malayalam markets and overseas with surprisingly good numbers. But it went nowhere at the Telugu box office. Lack of adequate hype on the sequel worked against the cause.

Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sura opened to possibly the better reviews last weekend. But it mainly catered to very small section of the audience. So the theatrical returns are barely mention worthy in Telugu states.

In terms of absolute numbers, it is Mad Square which is the winner this weekend as it generated the highest revenues.
