Not long after the severe floods, Chennai was again hit with a news that disrupted the normal life of people living there. This news was regarding the presence of a bomb which caused severe chaos in various schools across Chennai. Luckily, the news turned out to be a hoax and there was no actual bomb present.

Problems started when two schools in Chennai, one at Neelangarai on the East Coast Road and the other on the Old Mahaballiburam Road gave leave to its students. Apparently, the management came across some WhatsApp messages regarding calls made to some schools in the city about a bomb present in the campus. This caused a scare among the parents with many of them rushing to schools and taking away their children.
However, the police refuted all such rumours and said that no bombs have been found and there is no need for parents to panic.
