Shaakuntalam, featuring Samantha in the lead role released in theaters on the 14th of this month and it is being tipped a wasted and underwhelming attempt.
But when it comes to who deserved the credit for the failure of the film, it should be the director Gunasekhar.
While there might be a few complaints about Sam’s dubbing for her character and how her toned demeanor didn’t fit the specifications of the Shakuntala character, the director is the one who should’ve gotten her act together.
Had Gunasekhar gotten the VFX, CGI, and more importantly, the narration on point, there shouldn’t have been the point of calling out Samantha.
With big budget visual optic films like these, the director is the one should be a master of all crafts. In case of the failure, he is the one who is to be blamed.
Shaakuntalam has gotten off to utterly poor reviews already and it needs to be said that Gunasekhar is to face the full blame for the same.
