It was the audio launch event of ‘Upendra 2’. But it was also a special day in the life of star director V.V.Vinayak because it happens to be the same day when Vinayak took birth as a director 15 years back. He reminisced his days as an assistant director those days.
Vinayak has been an admirer of Upendra as a director and used to go gaga over his style on screen. So when he got a chance to meet the star in Chennai, Vinayak was expecting to see his favourite director turned hero in a stylish avatar. But when they opened the door, what they saw was surprising.
Upendra was wearing a lungi and a pocket torn shirt with a beedi in his mouth. Vinayak says he liked it and follows the same when at home, wearing a shabby shirt and sporting casual looks. However Vinayak appealed to Upendra to direct movies even though he is doing films as a hero. He is missing what Upendra used to deliver as a director.
