Why writing ‘Kahaani’ remake was challenging?

Telugu writer Yandamuri Veerendranath, who has penned the dialogues and screenplay for “Anamika”, southern remake of “Kahaani”, says it wasn’t an easy task to write for the film.

He said that since they were not a doing frame-to-frame remake. Therefore, he was required to rewrite the screenplay and the dialogues because they weren’t translating word by word and scene by scene. Although he has worked on several films, he admits working on this one was most challenging.

He feels ‘Anamika’ will supersede the original. He said that they have added a social element which was not part of the original. This has made the remake even more exciting and therefore he feels it will better than ‘Kahaani’. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, “Anamika” features Nayantara in the role originally played by Vidya Balan. Also starring Pasupathy, Vaibhav Reddy and Harshvardhan Rane, the film is slated to release May 1 worldwide.
