Despite the weak reviews, Prabhas’s Saaho had a blistering opening weekend at the box offices across the Northern belt. The film minted Rs 24+ crores on its opening day and it is next only to Baahuali 2 in terms of opening day tally. Now, the big question is – can RRR beat Saaho‘s day 1 tally?
Given the current market situation up North, minting Rs 24 crores on the opening day is near impossible for RRR.
As per box office analysts initial estimates, at the very best, RRR might make Rs 19 crores on its opening day, which can be considered an exceptional number, but it looks less likely given the current situation. With all factors considered, a Rs 10+ crore opening day gross collection can be termed a good one.
It is now estimated that RRR might collect in the range of Rs 10-13 crores on its opening day in the Hindi belt. In all likelihood, RRR might post a number in the said bracket range.
Recent blockbuster The Kashmir Files which is going on a stellar run at the box office might eat into RRR’s collections. So, a unanimously positive response is needed for RRR if the film is to fare well in the Hindi circuit. Baahubali director Rajamouli’s brand image will also come into play here.
As for the Telugu states, RRR is likely to post record-breaking numbers in many circuits across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It will be the biggest Indian opener in the USA as well.
