Mohanlal L2E Empuraan

Usually franchise films and sequences tend to release with great anticipation and hype. More so in the case of blockbuster films that had sensationally good first parts and are arriving with a subsequent second part now.

However, that is not even remotely the case with upcoming sequel L2E Empuraan which is the sequel for 2019 Malayali blockbuster Lucifer.

This sequel is preparing for theatrical release on March 28, and the promotional campaign is also happening at whatever capacity it is.

However, the issue here is that the film has possibly the least amount of hype and anticipation for any sequel in recent times. It is safe to say that the Telugu market is absolutely dead for this film at this point in time.

The fundamental reason behind this could be the fact that the original did not do too well in the Telugu states. It wasn’t of the same pedigree as a Kantara or KGF.

And also, the original was remade in Telugu by Chiranjeevi in the form of Godfather. This might have taken more sheen off the original in the Telugu states.

Now the situation for the sequel is downright bad. Not many Telugu folk or even aware of the fact that the film is actually releasing on March 28.

The film has an ensemble Cast, including Mohanlal and other popular Malayalam actor actors. Moreover, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is a brilliant actor himself, and also very capable. Director is at the helm for this film.

So if the film managers to gain any sort of momentum after the release, it should entirely be due to the word of mouth can generate.

But again, we have multiple other options, including Mad Square, Robin Hood, and Sikandar, which are lined up for release on March 4th weekend. So this will further eat into the prospect of this film in the Telugu market.
