The reason is familiar by now ticket hikes and special-show permissions. The team has been waiting for the required approvals, leaving the AP and Telangana booking window much later than several other markets. Reports suggested that the new ticket-hike GO was a key reason behind the delay.
And this is where Toxic becomes more than just another booking update. This last-minute scramble has become a recurring part of the big-film release business in the Telugu States. Peddi, for instance, also went through uncertainty over ticket hikes and special-show permissions before the necessary approvals came through.
The irony is that the demand for Toxic is already visible in other markets. The film has reportedly crossed six lakh tickets in advance sales ahead of its release, showing that the audience is already lining up.
So the question isn’t whether Toxic has demand. The bigger question is why a major film releasing tomorrow still has to enter the final stretch with its Telugu States ticketing plan being sorted out.
