The advance booking for Toxic has finally started across India. The film is undoubtedly facing the pressure to deliver bigger at the box office compared to the records created by K.G.F. Chapter 2.
While doubts were being raised due to low hype, specifically in the Hindi market, the situation has turned out to be something else. According to some social media reports, the advance booking situation has hinted, for now, that the film might take an opening of Rs. 100 crores.
The national multiplex chains have reportedly sold 30,000 tickets in seven hours, which is said to be much better than other blockbusters over the last few years.
As of now, Karnataka is on top in terms of opening day advances, with gross collections touching almost Rs. 9 crores with sales of more than 200,000 tickets. Karnataka is followed by Maharashtra with Rs. 1 crore sales so far, with 25,000 tickets. A good start is expected for now as the all-India advance sales have crossed the mark of Rs. 14 crores.
The numbers have clearly proved that Yash remains a pan-India star and the throne cannot be taken away so easily from him. The Hindi version is supposed to start its journey with Rs. 30 crores. Although it is lower than the first day numbers of K.G.F. Chapter 2 in Hindi, it will witness a jump, considering that the movie will get the advantage of an extended weekend.
The predictions for the first day numbers in Hindi are also better compared to the movies released by Prabhas over the last few years. This includes Saaaho, which started at Rs. 24 crores, followed by Kalki 2898 AD with Rs. 22 crores and Salaar with Rs. 15 crores.
While nothing much can be confirmed for now about the first day figures, it can be said with conviction that it will set a record for Raaka, Allu Arjun’s upcoming pan-India release. Notably, trade experts are eagerly waiting to see if Raaka’s advance booking figures in Hindi will be the same as Toxic.
Toxic marks the return of Yash to the big screen after four years. The major expectation for now is to break the records created by K.G.F. Chapter 2. But that will entirely depend on whether Geetu Mohandas has created something bigger and better for the audience. Let’s wait and see.
