Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has set a 30-month deadline for the construction of 11 integrated townships under his flagship project Bharat Future City. The townships are being planned as self-sustained mini cities.
These 11 townships will be spread across seven mandals. The mandals include Amangal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kadthal, Kandukur, Maheswaram, Yacharam, and Manchala.
Each township has been designed with a specific development focus. Education City will host world-class universities. The Medical Tourism Zone will feature advanced healthcare facilities and a dedicated medical hub.
Hyderabad Sports City will be developed with modern sports clusters. AI City will emerge as a centre for artificial intelligence and information technology industries.
The Life Sciences township will focus on pharmaceutical research, development, and the production of life-saving drugs. Electronics City will house electronics and semi conductor industries.
One township will be dedicated entirely to electric vehicles. It will handle the production and distribution of electric vehicles. A Furniture City will also be developed to manufacture and distribute world-class furniture.
An International Park will be created to attract global companies involved in advanced product manufacturing. A separate residential township will be developed for housing, retail, and entertainment needs.
In addition, a recreation zone will be developed to promote eco tourism. This zone will also include a reserve forest area.
Initially, the project planned only four townships. However, Revanth Reddy has directed officials that 70 percent of Fortune 500 companies investing in Telangana must have offices in Future City.
Bharat Future City is being developed 40 kilometres from Hyderabad. The site is located between Mirkhanpet and Mucharla across 30000 acres.
To oversee planning and execution, the Future City Development Corporation office has been established in the project area. In December 2024, Skill University was launched in Education City.
Work on the Young India Integrated Gurukul School has also begun. Construction activities in the remaining townships are expected to start soon.
