Andhra Pradesh’s former Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, had a habit of self-publicizing every scheme with his name or photo.
Now, he has been dethroned by the public, and Nara Chandrababu Naidu has become the Chief Minister of the state once again.
After assuming power, Chandrababu Naidu recalled the 20.19 lakh land passbooks that were printed with Jagan’s photo.
These 20.19 lakh passbooks were distributed to people after conducting a resurvey in 4,618 villages.
As if he was giving his own lands to farmers, Jagan Mohan Reddy printed passbooks with the title “Jagananna Bhuhakku Patram” and his photograph.
Farmers opposed the act of giving passbooks of their lands under the name and photograph of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
During his election campaign, Chandrababu Naidu promised to remove Jagan’s photo from passbooks and reprint them with the state’s official emblem.
To implement this, Minister Anagani Satya Prasad discussed with the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, Sai Prasad, and Commissioner of Survey and Settlement, Siddharth Jain, at the secretariat the other day.
It was found that around 20.19 lakh passbooks were distributed in the state so far, and later, the distribution was stopped due to the election code.
Around one lakh passbooks are pending distribution as of now. This distribution will be stalled, and new passbooks for all eligible candidates will be distributed. The government will soon decide how and when to distribute the new passbooks.
