Recently, AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan conducted a sudden inspection at the Kakinada port and discovered that ration rice was being illegally smuggled from the state. He ordered the seizure of the ship involved and instructed Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar and local MLA Konda Babu to take action against the smuggling activities.
Today, Nadendla Manohar held a press meet in Vijayawada, stating there was nothing wrong with what Pawan Kalyan said. He accused the previous YCP government of allowing smuggling at the port and compromising the nation’s security.

He revealed that only 20 police officials were deployed across 2,200 acres of the Kakinada port during the YCP rule. He added that since the NDA came into power, officials have been regularly inspecting illegal reserves at the port and tightening security. “Twenty-five tonnes of ration rice were found in the inspected reserves,” he said.
Manohar questioned whether there is any guarantee that ganja will not be smuggled from the port in the future. He accused Dwarampudi and Kannababu of misusing their authority to enable smuggling activities.
