The investigation into the ‘Aadudham Andhra’ scam during the YSRCP regime was completed in August. The Vigilance Department submitted its report to the DGP on August 31, confirming serious irregularities in the Rs 119 crore sports development programme.
There are strong allegations of corruption in the ‘Aadudham Andhra’ initiative launched under the previous government. The controversy deepened after several sportspersons and association heads accused the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh of financial mismanagement.
The allegations include large-scale irregularities in prize money distribution and poor-quality sports kits. The issue gained public attention after RD Prasad, former national Kabaddi player and CEO of the Atya-Patya Association, filed a complaint with the Andhra Pradesh CID.
The key decision-makers in ‘Aadudham Andhra’ were the then Sports Minister Roja and the then SAAP Chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy. It has now been 64 days since the Vigilance Department submitted its report, yet no action has been taken.
At that time, SAAP Chairman Ravi Naidu had announced that the government would take action by September 5 without any gender bias. That statement was seen as a sign that Roja’s arrest could follow soon.
But the question now is, why the delay? Roja continues to make frequent visits to Tirumala and remains active in public appearances. Meanwhile, Byreddy Siddharth Reddy is active on Instagram, posting reels regularly.
The public is asking why the Vigilance Report is still under wraps and why there has been no movement. Any further delay will lead people to believe that there was no scam in the first place.
Roja, who was known for her fiery comments during the YSRCP rule, seems to be regaining her outspoken style. While leaders like Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi have stayed quiet, Roja continues to speak out.
Supporters of TDP and Janasena are urging their top leadership to take strict action and not show any mercy towards her in the case.
