Telugu Desam party has been in alliance with Janasena and BJP in Andhra Pradesh to form the NDA government which stormed to power in 2024. But it appears that this alliance is restricted to Andhra Pradesh, and it will not extend in Telangana.
Union home Minister and BJP stalwart, Amit Shah has confirmed that BJP will not be entering any alliance with any other party in Telangana.
Amit Shah confirmed that BJP will be contesting the upcoming elections in Telangana on its own, and there will be no chance for any alliance in the future. This categorically confirms that BJP will be fighting the upcoming GHMC and subsequent Telangana assembly elections on its own.
This is interesting piece of information for the TDP and Janasena, as they will have to prepare for the fight in Telangana all by themselves.
Telugu Desam has a significant follower base in Telangana and it has a strong cadre here as well. The major majority of this mechanism worked for Revanth Reddy and ultimately to Congress in 2023. So we have to see if TDP would actually decide to contest the 2028 Telangana election and split the vote.
Janasena is yet to make a mark for itself in Telangana, but Pawan Kalyan appears to be determined to make it all happen. But going solo in Telangana, must be a real tough fight for this party.
