2 Years For History: How Did CBN, PK Script It?

Andhra Pradesh NDA victory leaders

It has been exactly 2 years since the people of Andhra Pradesh delivered one of the most historic verdicts in the history of Indian politics. On June 4 in 2024, possibly one of the most, if not the most one-sided election happened in Andhra Pradesh.

The existing YCP regime at that point in time was brutally removed from power while the TDP+ alliance stormed to power.

YSR Congress went from being one of the most powerful political parties in India with 151MLA seats and 21MP seats, and almost unrecognisable position with 11 MLAs.

This was a collective effort from Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh, as all of them combined to deliver a historic comeback. Naidu, who had faced, possibly the worst situation in his political career with 23 seats in 2019, bounced back with resounding victory with TDP.

Pawan Kalyan’s JSP, which had registered a horrifying campaign in 2019 maintained a hundred percent strike rate in 2024. Pawan Kalyan himself finally managed to breach the assembly hurdle as he won Pithapuram.

Lokesh had a similar trajectory and he did not just win Mangalagiri by a sensational margin, but he led the entire TDP ecosystem across Andhra Pradesh before the election with Yuva Galam. This was one of the most influential political campaigns in recent times.

The collective efforts of three individuals, Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh paired with the Delhi bosses of BJP combined to pull up a sensationally strong outcome in the election and rightly so as well.

The first two years of the NDA rule has already been positive with a positive investment index and social infrastructure. But the challenge is going to be to continue the stability of the alliance and also deliver quality administration for the next three years before going into 2029 polls.
