The results of the much awaited APNGOs Election are out. In a seriously fought election, the existing panel, Ashok Babu’s panel won the election comfortably over Basheer Panel. Out of 815 votes polled, Ashok Babu Panel got 475 votes and Basheer panel just managed 120 votes. Ashok Babu dedicated this win to Samyikya Andhra supporters and promised that he will carry out the agitation more intensely going forward till Telangana Bill is put in back burner.
It is known that to hijack APNGO led agitation YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party on several occasions tried to enter the agitation but Ashok Babu managed to keep political forces at bay from it. Jagan funded and backed Basheer panel in the election. Basheer even made corruption allegations on Ashok Babu but the later emerged with flying colours despite all these.
