The reason for giving the Assembly ticket to Azharuddin is that Congress has been unable to field a sufficient number of Muslim minority candidates in the election. According to reports, Azharuddin has not been actively involved in the campaign compared to other candidates in the segment.
If BRS wins any Assembly segment in GHMC, Jubilee Hills will be the first one. Maaganti Gopinath might secure a hat-trick to enter the Assembly. Azharuddin’s defeat in Jubilee Hills seems inevitable unless there is a strong Congress wave in the state.
