The Jubilee Hills assembly seat has fallen vacant following the death of Maganti Gopinath. Maganti was from BRS and had been an MLA thrice.

The news is that ex cricketer Mohd Azharuddin will be contesting in the by election. He asked people not to believe talk by some Congressmen that he won’t be contesting from Jubilee Hills.

Azharuddin said he will win the seat and give it as a gift to Rahul Gandhi. However, Azharuddin contested from Jubilee Hills in the past elections and lost.

Hence, the party is said to be considering the names of PJR’s son Vijaya Reddy and Naveen Yadav.

Azharuddin spoke to media today and said that he lost last time as the ticket was given in the last minute. He added that he worked relentlessly for the Congress candidate during Lok Sabha elections. Azharuddin further added that he will take up the issue of party ticket with the high command.

He stated that he had the blessings of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and KC Venugopal. He added with the support of CM Revanth Reddy, state incharge Meenakshi Natarajan and TG PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, he was confident of winning this time.

Azharuddin reiterated that he will win the by election and give one more seat as a gift to Rahul Gandhi.
