Reports are emerging that Jayalalithaa’s close aide, Sasikala Natarajan is considering to contest the upcoming by-elections of RK Nagar, the constituency of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. But then the party cadre mostly women protested such move while paying tributes through a silent rally on the 30th day after her death.

They were shouting slogans that they will respect Sasikala for being close to their Amma but can not vote for her. Some of them are demanding that Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar to contest from RK Nagar as she is the real heir to Jayalalithaa.
Sensing the discontentment, some senior office bearers have suggested that Sasikala should contest from Madurai. Deepa is likely to contest in RK Nagar if at all Sasikala decides to put herself in fray. Deepa’s residence in T Nagar, Chennai, is always have a few hundred AIADMK workers asking her to lead the party.
