When Pawan Kalyan floated the Janasena Party in 2014, he was bogged down by the defeat of the Praja Rajyam Party. And no one gave him a chance in politics, Pawan Kalyan skipped contesting the election and supported the TDP and BJP alliance.

Things turned worse for the Janasena Party in the 2019 election.

Janasena Party just won one seat in the recent elections with Pawan Kalyan himself losing from Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka. This has come as a shock to the party supporters. 120 of the party candidates lost their deposits in 137 constituencies it has contested.

The defeat has completely demoralized the party cadre. Many leaders left the party but Pawan Kalyan was unmoved.

He faced the worst humiliation with the YSR Congress Ministers and MLAs including Jagan Mohan Reddy hurling abuses tainting his character and trying to assassinate his character. But Pawan Kalyan took everything and waited for his turn to get revenge.

Pawan Kalyan proved to be a practical man and opted for an alliance with TDP and BJP. There was severe pressure from the fans and community not to ally with TDP. Blinded by ego, they could not see the harsh reality but the Janasenani stood his ground.

Some of them had unreasonable expectations like power-sharing, 75 seats, etc.

Pawan Kalyan faced resistance in every step of the alliance including seat-sharing, refusing tickets to some important leaders, etc.

He realized the importance of taking seats as per the strength and even in them, he sacrificed a couple for BJP for the greater good.

He also played a crucial role in bringing BJP into the alliance.

Even the BJP tried to arm-twist Chandrababu Naidu in seat-sharing but Pawan Kalyan did not.

Finally, his efforts paid off and the alliance won a massive mandate of 164/175 seats with Janasena registering a 100% strike rate – 21/21 MLA Seats and 2/2 MP seats.

Pawan Kalyan himself won from Pithapuram with a humungous majority of 70,279 votes. He did not hesitate to do anything to keep TDP Pithapuram Incharge SVSN Varma happy.

Today he is the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh and the Minister with the highest number of Portfolios in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet.

The new innings is going to be even more difficult.

The innings so far has been helped by his popularity and this new innings will test his commitment to the public and administrative skills.

We will have YSR Congress baying for his blood sooner or later trying to make him a failure.

When in power, Jagan did not even like to take Pawan Kalyan. He will be green with jealousy and anger for what Pawan Kalyan did to him and for what he achieved, going by Jagan’s mentality, he will not leave any stone untouched to make Pawan Kalyan look like a failure.

Also, he got some very important portfolios like Rural Development and Panchayat Raj where he can really show a mark.

The biggest Achilles Heel of Pawan Kalyan will be the time. Pawan Kalyan is also into the films. We do not know yet if he will stop doing films after the current commitments. But the opponents will try to use that against him.

So, he needs to balance things.

Also, the officials of any ministry are usually very shrewd. If they smell a chance, they will try to bulldoze and keep the Minister in the dark. So, Pawan Kalyan should be vigilant all the time.

Also, he has to find a way to take the party to the grassroots. It is crucial to build a party organization in every village.

The next five years are going to be very important for Pawan Kalyan and his every move will be scrutinized. So, wishing nothing but the best for Pawan Kalyan.
