BirlaNu announced a major greenfield expansion in Nellore with a new fibre cement board plant. The first phase brings an investment of Rs 127 crore and creates 600 direct and indirect jobs. The project adds strength to Andhra Pradesh’s growing manufacturing space.
The facility is designed with advanced and sustainable systems. It supports circular economy practices by using fly ash. The plant will also add depth to domestic and export supply chains and push stronger production links in the region.
Future phases include PVC pipes, fittings and construction chemicals. With this, BirlaNu will widen its integrated manufacturing footprint in Andhra Pradesh. One will also see better access to building materials across the region.
BirlaNu is a building materials and home solutions company. Its presence in Nellore will increase the supply of quality materials and add momentum to local economic activity. It further supports growth in the state’s industrial corridor.
The facility will use fly ash from thermal power plants as a key input. This reduces waste and promotes circular economy practices. It also creates steady employment opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers around Nellore.
