Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma recently stirred controversy in the Assembly by accusing the Pollution Control Board (PCB) Chairman of negligence. Uma said the Chairman ignored MLAs and always blamed the Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, for delays in work.
“The Chairman acts as if the board doesn’t exist. He keeps saying the Deputy CM must give instructions or that he’s unavailable. The Deputy CM should warn the board and make it work,” Uma said in the Assembly.
The mention of Pawan Kalyan’s unavailability triggered a political storm. Although Pawan appeared slightly uncomfortable, he handled the situation calmly. Media reports then speculated about a possible rift between the TDP and Janasena allies.
Both parties responded quickly. Pawan Kalyan held a review meeting with PCB officials to resolve the issue, while Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu indirectly advised Uma to be more careful with his remarks. Uma later apologised publicly on social media.
The matter finally settled today during the launch of the ‘Auto Driverla Sevalo’ scheme in Vijayawada Central. Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh attended the event alongside Bonda Uma.
During their speeches, both Pawan and Uma mentioned each other respectfully, showing there was no tension between them. Their friendly interaction made it clear the alliance remains strong.
Pawan Kalyan also deserves credit for maintaining unity. If he had any issue with Uma, he could have easily shifted the event to another constituency, but he didn’t. His gesture reflected maturity and leadership.
This renewed camaraderie between TDP and Janasena is likely to worry the YSR Congress. The two parties together form a powerful front, and YSRCP has always hoped their alliance would fall apart. But their strong bond now seems unbreakable.
