Sakshi Malik, the wrestler who brought the first bronze medal to India in the Rio Olympics this year, is about to earn a lot more than a medal. While bringing fame and honour to the country is a lot in itself, the young wrestler will also be receiving a reward from the Haryana state.

The state government of Haryana had previously declared that all the medallists will be getting a bonus – gold medallists- Rs. 6 crore, silver medallists- Rs. 4 crore, and bronze medallists-Rs. 2 crore – and apparently, Sakshi will be at the receiving end of 2 crores.
Not just that, Sakshi Malik’s big win at the 58kg category women’s wrestling on the twelfth day of the Olympics has other plus points too. Among others, the railway had also promised cash reward Sakshi will be getting another 50 lakhs.
