Some might complain of pandemic blues, but a world of myriad colors opens up elsewhere. Students could have suffered the two pandemic years, but now things are looking exceptionally bright for Indian students who are looking to go to the United Kingdom.
Well, for the good news first. The turnaround time for student visas has been reduced to just 15 days, according to Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner of India. He spoke exclusively to a leading television channel, during which he shared that priority visas have a turnaround time of just five days.
Ellis also stated that India was their number one country when it came to student visas and in terms of skilled workers. Apparently, 45% of our skilled workers now head to the UK for jobs. While China was the top country till before the pandemic, India has now taken over, and this will be hugely beneficial to the students aspiring to the European country.
In fact, it’s not just normal visas, students will be getting priority and super priority visas for Indian students who wish to take up undergrad and graduation courses in the UK. One of the main reasons is the changes in immigration policies of the island nation, which now allows students to work for at least two to three years before returning home unless they land a proper job there.
While inflation has hit high due to the unexpected Ukraine-Russia war, Ellis further adds that India and UK are looking at doubling trade by 2030, which is going to help both countries. He also added that both countries were looking at greater bilateral cooperation in the areas of space exploration and defense.
