Byreddy Siddharth Reddy, once promoted by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as a firebrand leader, is now facing a steep political fall. Despite his rowdy-sheeter background and several cases, Jagan elevated him to counter senior leader Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy and even made him SAAP Chairman.

Hailing from Nandikotkur, an SC-reserved constituency, Siddharth Reddy often clashed with YSRCP MLA Arthur. When Arthur shifted to Congress before the 2024 elections, YSRCP lost the seat. His fiery speeches once went viral, with party supporters calling him the next big thing in Andhra politics.

Now, his presence is almost invisible. Occasionally he appears in the media, makes remarks such as on the recent Pulivendula ZPTC elections, and disappears again. The once-hyped leader now feels like a filler act in a long-running political drama.

Trouble is set to deepen for him as the CID prepares action in the Aadudham Andhra scam. The Vigilance Department has submitted its report to the DGP, uncovering irregularities and misuse of funds. Final authority rested with then Sports Minister Roja and SAAP Chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy.

While Roja may avoid arrest due to political and gender factors, Byreddy Siddharth Reddy is likely to face jail time. This marks a sharp fall for someone once hailed as Andhra Pradesh’s promising young political star.
