Nagababu contested for Narasarapuram Parliament in the last elections. He came distant third after the YSR Congress and TDP candidates.
After the defeat, he stayed away from politics for some time. Later on, he announced that he would no longer take part in electoral politics but would help Janasena in whatever way it was possible for him.
Since then, we have been seeing participate in some Janasena meetings and caste Congregations, and also making controversial comments.
But now, all of a sudden, there are reports that Nagababu wants to contest from Anakapalli Parliament seat as he believes the victory is easy due to the alliance with TDP.
Anakapalli like Narasapuram is a Kapu community dominated area.
It is interesting to note that Allu Aravind contested from the same seat in 2009 on the Praja Rajyam ticket.
Back then, Aravind came a distant third after Congress and TDP candidates in Anakapalli.
Aravind, however, got close to three lakh votes back then.
We will have to see if Nagababu can prove to be better than Aravind.
Nagababu has a history of irking TDP cadres in all possible ways. Even recently, he made indirect comments. He is also motivating Janasaniks to demand power-sharing for Pawan Kalyan. With all these factors, we will have to see if a seamless vote transfer will happen for Nagababu from TDP voters.
