CBI Appoints Jagan’s Lawyer In Key Position

raghu rama krishna rajuAndhrajyothy had carried a story which has become a new controversy in Andhra Pradesh Political circles. The CBI has appointed P. Subhash as the Special Public Prosecutor (Retainer Counsel) to represent it in Andhra Pradesh High Court in Amaravati.

P.Subhash is one of the lawyers who represented the cases of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy in disproportionate assets cases. The appointment is a conflict of interest, Andhrajyothy alleges and the news has become viral on social media.

YSR Congress Rebel MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju wrote a letter to the CBI objecting the same. He mentioned that Jagan already appointed him as the Counsel of the Government after coming to power. Interestingly, a clause in Andhra Pradesh Government restricts Subhash from arguing any case which is against the policies and interests of the State Government.

But then, CBI is handling several cases against the State Government in which Subhash may have to file cases in the High Court and argue in case the need arises as CBI’s Special Public Prosecutor (Retainer Counsel).
