Pawan Kalyan chose his Pithapuram constituency for the Plenary while Telugu Desam Party announced its Mahanadu will happen in the Kadapa district.

These decisions give contrasting opinions about the mindsets of both parties.

TDP is going aggressive by having a plenary in Kadapa, the strong fort of the YSR Congress.

In the recent elections, TDP crashed the fort when it won Seven out of the ten seats in the Kadapa district.

By keeping the Mahanadu in Kadapa, it is sending a message that it is keen on decimating the YSR Congress further in the district.

At the same time, choosing Pithapuram for the Plenary is a defensive decision.

Having a Plenary there will make crowd accumulation easy. Moreover, East Godavari is a strong ground for the Janasena Party due to the Kapu Community.

However, one can not go so harsh on Janasena too in this issue.

TDP is a party with a strong presence at the grassroots and strong leaders even in a weak district like Kadapa. Further, it has strong financial muscle.

But Janasena’s situation is exactly the opposite. The party’s strength is mostly confined to the Godavari districts. The party struggles outside of Godavari districts and the Uttarandhra.

It is a long way to go for the party to take such aggressive decisions.
