Chandra Babu Naidu’s government in Andhra Pradesh is almost certain of carrying out the loan waiver for farmers and is currently working on the ways to procure income for it. TDP government is looking at the rescheduling of the loans by Reserve Bank of India and will pay the money to banks in parts. On the other side, Kotayya committee formed to look in to Loan Waiver is working on the beneficiaries list.
It is said that government is planning to waive 1.5 Lakhs Crop loans and 50000 of Gold Loans to each family. The waiver is planned in such a way 96% of the families in the state are benefited. Government has asked the bankers to give details of all the borrowers and is in the process of eliminating duplicates and fraudsters from the list. It is said that Kotayya committee has got a special software to take up this process.
It is known that Loan Waiver for farmers and women self help groups is one of the prime poll promises of Telugu Desam Party and now the party is under pressure to deliver it so as to improve its credibility in people. On the other side, Opposition parties are waiting for the government to fail and looking to hound them later on in this issue.
