During his recent visit to Delhi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu asked the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) Limited, to come out with plan for the development of the new capital near Vijayawada. The company will be entrusted the duty of constructing the Assembly, Secretariat and other government offices in the state capital. NBCC is currently working on the renovation of Andhra Bhavan in Delhi.
Chandra Babu wants the buildings to be high-rise to save the land required and government will have to relax the existing rules to facilitate their construction. NBCC will very soon forward their plans to the Chief Minister and after his approval, the lands will be identified for their construction accordingly. It is known that Andhra Pradesh government is going to use land pooling for acquiring land for the State Capital. According to this model, land losing farmers and private parties will be given a share in the developed lands. Government will bear the entire expenses of the development.
