The social media is full of rumours after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to step down from the CM’s post and chose to go to Rajya Sabha instead. The change has surprised many as the BJP in alliance with JDU fought elections with Nitish Kumar as the CM candidate.
Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the CM for the 10th time after a huge victory. With doubts about his health, the BJP is rumored to have moved its pawns.
Even as Bihar and Nitish Kumar make headlines, the north media narrative is that Chandrababu could be next in line like the way BJP moved Eknath Shinde from the CM’s post in Maharashtra.
The BJP denied an alliance with Shiv Sena in 2019. So Uddhav Thackerey formed an alliance with the NCP and the Congress. This government fell due to Eknath Shinde who went on to become the CM. It is said Eknath Shinde had the backing of the BJP. However, in 2025, Mahavikas Aghadi alliance swept the elections in Maharashtra. But the BJP kept the CM’s post to itself.
According to narrative in north media, Andhra Pradesh CM could be next on the target of BJP. However, the AP political analysts say the pattern cannot be repeated in AP. There is talk that the BJP could take Chandrababu to the Center and make Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan the Chief Minister.
This is something that the TDP supporters are vehemently denying. They say, the TDP has a strong base in Andhra Pradesh. Then of course, there is Nara Lokesh, who is the heir apparent of Chandrababu. The talk of Lokesh taking over as the CM has been going on for quite some time. The AP political analysts say the BJP might have a tough time changing the ground reality in AP politics unlike in Bihar and Maharashtra.
