Chandrababu-Naidu-Supreme-Court-AdjournmentSupreme Court had adjourned the arguments of Chandrababu Naidu’s Special Leave Petition to Friday at 2 PM.

Today, Senior Advocate Harish Salve continued his arguments from yesterday in this matter. Later Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi appearing for the Government also started his arguments.

While Harish Salve argued Section 17A is applicable for Chandrababu Naidu and the FIR is liable to be quashed, Rohatgi argued that Section 17A is not meant to be an umbrella for those who are corrupt but to support those who are honest.

Just before the lunch, the Judges said they would hear regular matters after the lunch and said they would adjourn the matter to Friday.

Chandrababu’s Counsel Siddharth Luthra pressed for a Thursday hearing. At the same time, Rohatgi asked the matter to be heard on Friday or Monday indicating that the Government wants to delay the matter as much as possible.

Friday post-lunch means there is a chance that the Government Counsel would not conclude the arguments and the matter may be pushed to Monday.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu moved the High Court for a Lunch Motion to hear his Bail in this case. But the court refused to take it up as a Lunch Motion and asked to come Regularly.
