Former CMO Secretary and retired IAS officer K. Dhanunjaya Reddy (A31) and OSD Krishnamohan Reddy (A32), who were close associates of former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, were arrested by the SIT in connection with the Liquor Scam.

Dhanunjaya Reddy was the Number One in AP CMO between 2019 and 2024, while Krishnamohan Reddy is Number Two. They called the shots in the party and the Government in those five years.
In 2019, just as the election results were coming out, Dhanunjaya Reddy appeared next to Jagan. Jagan appointed him as his additional secretary even before taking the oath. Later, he was promoted to secretary.

Even though Jagan was the CM for five years, Dhanunjaya Reddy sorted out all the affairs on his behalf. Since the then CM Jagan was rarely available to ministers, MLAs and officials, they all resorted to Dhanunjaya Reddy.
They thought that if they told him, it was as if they told Jagan. Even officials like Praveen Prakash and Mutyalaraju, who were in the CMO positions at that time, had to tell Dhanunjaya Reddy and do any work.

The next position is held by P. Krishnamohan Reddy, who served as the CM OSD. When Rajasekhara Reddy was the CM, he served as the OSD of the Pulivendula Regional Development Authority (PADA).
Since then, he has become a key member of the YS family. Later, he took voluntary retirement and joined Jagan as the OSD.
When Vijaya Lakshmi led the party when Jagan was in jail, Krishnamohan Reddy also served as her OSD. When Jagan came to power in 2019, he was appointed as the OSD to the CM.
Krishnamohan Reddy is said to be involved in mining, illegally awarding contracts to Shirdi Sai Electricals, and the Liquor Scam.
Both of them were instrumental in all the key decisions taken in the party and the government during that period.
They were also a part of several scams that happened during that period.
Once they are locked up, they will have information pertaining to the scams, and also, they themselves are part of those scams.
With these arrests, AP Police have touched the close coterie of Jagan Mohan Reddy, and the next level is Jagan himself.
In the Liquor Scam, the SIT has already concluded that the bribes collected by Raj Kasireddy and his followers from liquor companies were transferred to Jagan through Krishnamohan Reddy.
It has been found that Dhanunjaya Reddy, the then Secretary in the CMO, played a key role in implementing this conspiracy.
In this context, with the arrest of both of them, there is a possibility that things will lead all the way to Tadepalli Palace.
This is an indication that the Government is ready to arrest Jagan as well if the need arises.
It also looks like Chandrababu is into any calculations that arresting Jagan may bring sympathy and electoral gain for YSR Congress.
