Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was in the SIT office for almost 3 hours. Chandrababu was brought to the SIT office in Kunchanapalli by road from Nandyala at 5 PM today.
Since then, the CID officials have prevented Chandrababu from even meeting his lawyers.
Chandrababu himself wrote a letter asking to be allowed to meet lawyers for legal assistance, but the CID officials did not respond.
On the other hand, CID officials did not allow Bhuvaneshwari and Nara Lokesh to meet Chandrababu. If Chandrababu was on the fifth floor of the SIT office, they were seated on the fourth floor.
There are media reports that CID plans to keep Chandrababu in the office all night and will produce him in the ACB court only after 5 AM tomorrow.
As per law, the arrested person should be produced in court in 24 hours. Chandrababu was arrested at 6 AM today so, he will have to be produced in court before that.
Meanwhile, CID is giving leaks to the Ruling Party’s favorable media that Chandrababu is not cooperating in the investigation.
Senior Supreme Court lawyer Siddharth Luthra, his team, and TDP’s legal cell lawyers are waiting in the court for Chandrababu Naidu.
To keep Chandrababu in custody as long as possible seems to be the plan.
