The YCP leaders have been continuing their attacks even after the conclusion of the elections. Already, various YCP leaders created a ruckus at multiple constituencies across Andhra Pradesh yesterday during the poling.
This afternoon, YCP leaders attacked the TDP alliance contestant from Chandragiri, Pulivarthi Nani. He was attacked when he was returning from his visit to the strong room at Padmavati Women’s University in Tirupati.
Nani’s associates were injured and his vehicle was damaged in this incident. Condemning the attack, TDP leaders protested at the Padmavati Women’s University.
TDP leaders alleged that Nani’s men were attacked by more than 150 members with daggers, knives and stones. It was stated that the attack happened under the supervision of Nadavaluru sarpanch Ganapati.
They claimed that YCP leaders are afraid of their defeat and thus, they are attacking rival party leaders. They questioned the police about the security measures that were being taken at the strong room and demanded to arrest the culprits with immediate effect.
The local TDP leaders hunted for the culprits near the university area. They damaged a car that was found with YCP flags, alcohol bottles and a few weapons.
The incident created a tense atmosphere at Padmavati Women’s University, necessitating police intervention to take situation into control.
