It is known that Dasari Narayana Rao, the former Minister of State for Coal is one of the accused in the Coal Scam during UPA regime. It is said that Dasari’s involvement in the scam is almost established over the allegations of money laundering.
Naveen Jindal’s Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Ltd (also belonging to Jindal) managed to bag Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Jharkhand in 2008 through alleged misrepresentation of facts when Dasari was minister of state for coal.
In a Quid-Pro-Quo deal, transferred Rs 2.25 crore into Rao’s company Saubhagya Media Limited for the favours granted by the then minister. Enforcement Directorate had finished identifying the properties and the attachment process will begin in a few days.
