Rehan Bin Ali Masqati, son of Congress leader and businessman Ali Masqati, has been arrested in a hit and run case. The accident, caused by rash driving, took place on September 30 at Chandrayanagutta X Roads in Hyderabad.
Rehan’s Toyota Fortuner struck two pedestrians, Sajid and Abdul Hasnath, who were residents of the area. Locals tried to stop him after the collision. Both men sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment.
On Friday, Abdul Hasnath succumbed to his injuries, while Sajid remains in hospital. Bandlaguda police confirmed Rehan’s arrest and seized the Fortuner involved in the incident. The investigation into the case is currently in progress.
The accident has triggered widespread discussion in Hyderabad political circles since it involves the son of a well-known businessman and Congress leader. The case continues to draw public attention as authorities probe the sequence of events.
