There were people who hate Ramoji Rao for Political and Caste reasons. They have started Hallabol saying that it is not right to waste Government money.

There are two things in this episode – Is Ramoji Rao eligible for such a commemoration meeting by the state government? and Does it amount to misuse of Public Money?

Ramoji Rao left an indelible mark on Journalism in Telugu and also constructed a film city in Hyderabad that is the pride of India.

His other businesses like Margadarshi and Priya Pickles played an important role in the lives of Telugu people.

Margadarshi strengthened people financially and some Lakhs could achieve their dreams by being Margadarshi customers.

Priya Pickles were the first to be made available abroad and the pickles have satiated the hunger of many students abroad.

Ramoji Rao was awarded Padma Vibhushan – the second highest civilian honor in the country for no simple reason. That alone automatically qualifies him.

He made a very impactful role in National Politics as well and was very close to many Prime Ministers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote an essay about Ramoji in Eenadu after his demise. Such respect does not come easily.

People can say many other influential personalities did not get commemoration meetings. The argument Ramoji Rao should not get one because others did not get is absurd.

And let’s see the other question – Does it amount to misuse of Public Money?

In the same meeting, Ramoji Rao’s family donated 10 Crore Rupees to Amaravati construction which is much more than what the state government spent.

Leave aside what they did now. Ramoji Rao is always at the forefront when it comes to helping both the Telugu States.

Even during COVID, Ramoji gave the highest donation of 20 crores in the Telugu states. He is also the one who gave the highest donation during the Hyderabad floods. Ramoji is there whenever Telugu states are in need.

Beyond this money, Ramoji Rao ran several magazines to promote Telugu even though they were loss-making.

Even though it was a loss-making venture, he did great service to the farmers through Annadata magazine.

It is sad that we are so ungrateful to the legends when there are leaders who waste public money to build castles and palaces.
