The Cricket World Cup 2023 has started off on a rather timid note with not many edge-of-the-seat thrillers in the recent games. But cut to now, a new report has stated that there is absolute panic in the Pakistan camp.

As per reports, several Paksitani players are down with viral infections and their backup player Abdullah Shafique is in quarantine now.

Pakistani star players Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Zaman Khan and others are said to be unwell and haven’t taken part in the training session recently. Usama Mir also isn’t doing well, it seems.

It is understood that none of the players have dengue symptoms which is some sort of a positive update.

Earlier, India had also suffered a similar blow as Subhman Gill fell ill ahead of the tournament as he contracted dengue and missed the first two games. Now, there is panic in the Pakistani camp with several players down with viral infections.

Pakistan faces Australia next in the group stage match in Bengaluru on the 20th of this month. With the infections scare, there is no update on whether Pakistan can field a full-strength side.
