Reports are emerging that Former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeshwari may be elevated by BJP High Command. She is reportedly being considered for Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. It may be a two and half years tenure which was fell vacant after Manohar Parrikar left to Goa.

BJP is hoping that her elevation will help the party in both the Telugu States. Purandeshwari who is in Congress later joined BJP after the state division. BJP made her the President of BJP Mahila Morcha. She is leading the anti-TDP faction in BJP trying to break the alliance.
Sources say that Purandeshwari is not very happy with the offer and is looking at a Six year Rajya Sabha tenure. However, this elevation may not go well with TDP since that will give her voice to help the anti-TDP Propaganda. Sending her to Rajya Sabha however will mean that TDP will not have the headache of allocating a strong MP Seat in seats sharing.
