
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Amaravati on May 2, 2025. He will take part in ground breaking for restarting the construction work in Amaravati. This has been disclosed by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Chandrababu said that the construction of High Court, Secretariat, Assembly and all Amaravati works must be completed in three years. Once Modi inaugurates the works, the construction will begin full on, said the CM.

Tenders have already been called, shared the CM. However, the Amaravati works have already started and they will speed up towards the end of this month, said MAUD Minister Narayana.
Amaravati was started by PM Modi on October 22, 2015. The works began at great speed, but then the 2019 elections came up. Jagan came to power and declared that he will establish three capitals.

Following this, the farmers who gave up 33,000 acres of land for the capital, did demonstrations and sat for dharnas.
Even as Jagan tried to curb these demonstrations, the 2024 elections came up and Chandrababu was voted back to power. This time around it was an alliance government formed by the union of BJP, TDP and Jana Sena.

During campaigning, both Modi and Amit Shah promised that they will develop Amaravati if voted to power. Now that they are in power, the works in Amaravati are happening fast and the government is going ahead with proper planning for the completion of world-class capital.
The Center has also given funds for the capital and Polavaram Project.
