The crucial by-election of Nandhyal is currently voting. Election Commission had taken all measures to ensure free and fair elections. For the first time, drones were deployed in sensitive areas of the Nandyal assembly constituency as part of security measures.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has also been deployed in the sensitive areas of the constituency. Cameras have been positioned outside every polling booth and junction. With the help of these, the command and control centre will get real time feed from every place in the constituency.
Nandhyal is a faction-ridden area of Rayalaseema and there are chances of violence erupting are quite high. Outsiders will not be allowed into the constituency until the polling is complete and the EVMs are secured. The counting/results will happen on 28th.
