Of late, we have been witnessing many drug rackets being busted in Hyderabad. The government of Telangana is making efforts by conducting constant drug raids to curb the increasing drug culture in the state.
In the latest development, the Excise Enforcement officials busted a huge drug transfer in the Pedda Amberpet area of Hyderabad and seized 170 kgs of Ganja (marijuana) worth Rs. 34 lakhs.

Speaking to the media, Excise Enforcement Joint Commissioner Qureshi said that upon receiving information about transporting marijuana from Orissa to Maharashtra, police carefully kept an eye on the movements of the accused.
With a proper plan, the police officials were successfully able to seize 170 kgs of Ganja while it was being illegally transported. A total of 8 individuals were arrested.

It was said that all these individuals belong to the same village in Maharashtra. They had made special arrangements in their van to carry marijuana. Another vehicle was escorting this van from the front.
Reportedly, the marijuana was packed in Malkangiri town of Orissa and was being transferred to Maharashtra.

An individual named Ismail was named as the main accused in this case. He works as a proclain operator. As part of his profession, he came across Santosh from Raipur.
With the help of Santosh, he got into the Ganja business. Ismail already faces a case against him in Maharashtra and spent four years in jail too.
Qureshi stated that the Preventive Detention (PD) Act will be implemented against these individuals as per their crime history.
