The Land-Titling Act, promised by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, is stirring up controversy among citizens. Many people are afraid of losing ownership of their lands under this rule.
Even the TDP and JanaSena have jointly opposed this law and promised not to implement it if people elect them to power in the upcoming elections.
Today, former IAS officer PV Ramesh revealed himself as a victim of the Land Titling Act. He shared his failed attempt to transfer ownership of his deceased parents’ patta lands in Vinnakota village of Krishna district.
He said that his application met with rejection from the local Tahsildar. The RDO returned the papers unopened. Ramesh expressed his helpless state of losing his parental land rights even before the act was implemented legally.
He emphasized that if this is the case for a seasoned IAS officer with 36 years of service like him, the situation of farmers is unimaginable.
TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu re-shared this post on social media, questioning the accessibility of land ownership for ordinary citizens through this rule when even a former IAS officer faces such hurdles.
