One MI Star, 7 IPL Teams Interested: Who Will Get Him?

Hardik Pandya IPL 2027 Trade Rumours

Hardik Pandya’s future with Mumbai Indians has become a major talking point ahead of IPL 2027, with several franchises reportedly interested in signing the all rounder.

Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has now added another twist by suggesting that Punjab Kings could be a possible destination, with Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal emerging as potential players in a swap deal.

According to reports, around six to seven IPL franchises have shown interest in Hardik, although no trade has been officially confirmed.

With the retention deadline approaching on November 15, Mumbai Indians must decide whether to continue with their current captain or consider an offer that could help them reshape their squad.

A potential swap involving Hardik, Jansen and Chahal would give both teams plenty to consider. Jansen could add a left arm pace option and provide batting depth, while Chahal would bring experience and wicket taking ability in the middle overs.

For Mumbai, who could look to strengthen their bowling options, the combination may be worth exploring.

Despite, losing Hardik would also mean giving up a player who can contribute with both bat and ball. His value is not limited to one role, and Mumbai would need to consider whether two players could make the squad stronger overall.

For Punjab, acquiring Hardik could add another experienced all rounder, but his role alongside captain Shreyas Iyer would also need to be considered.

Ashwin has also discussed the possibility of Naman Dhir emerging as a captaincy option for Mumbai Indians. Despite, there has been no official announcement suggesting that Mumbai are preparing to hand him the role. Any such move would depend on the franchise’s plans and the decisions made before the new season.

With the IPL 2027 mini auction reportedly scheduled for December 16, the coming weeks could prove important for every franchise. Mumbai must weigh Hardik’s all round value against the opportunity to strengthen multiple areas of their squad.

A trade could prove useful for both sides, but only if the players involved fit their new teams needs. Would Mumbai Indians be making a smart move by trading Hardik Pandya, or would they risk losing too much by letting their captain go?
