Why Chandrababu’s Arrest Is Political Vendetta!

Chandrababu ArrestFormer Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the Two-year-old Skill Development Case. APCID says 120 Crore Rupees were diverted and they suspect Naidu is the prime beneficiary in this case. But there are many reasons why people believe this arrest is just another political vendetta by the Jagan Government

Firstly, there is no name of Chandrababu in the FIR. The officials could not even show Prima Facie evidence against Babu during the arrest. The necessary permission from the Governor is also not obtained.

Legal Experts say that certain non-bailable sections were added to the case even though not applicable so that it becomes difficult to get bail. The judge will now have to decide on these sections.

The arrest was orchestrated on Friday-Saturday so that bail becomes difficult due to holidays due to Second Saturday and Sunday. If the case has merits, the Government would not fear Babu will get instant bail if arrested on working days. If there is a chance of instant bail, that means it is a weak case.

Chandrababu Naidu is in the middle of the district tour. The Midnight Hungama is absolutely not necessary as there is no chance of him escaping. Further, he is an NSG protectee. The Midnight Hungama is clearly aimed at insulting and political mileage by showing if something serious is happening.

Chandrababu was arrested a day before his Marriage Anniversary. YSR Congress MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was previously arrested on his Birthday. The MP alleges that arrests of opponents were timed in such a way as to satisfy the ego of the Chief Minister.

CID Chief N Sanjay calls for a Pressmeet and passes judgments about Chandrababu Naidu and even says he will get 10 years of jail. He even names Lokesh and further says Lokesh will be investigated for his involvement in Amaravati and Inner Ring Road cases. The Pressmeet sounds more political like his earlier Pressmeets on Margadarshi making the intentions clear.

The courts will decide what is in the case but the motives and actions of the machinery so far indicate that it is a clear case of political vendetta. But then, these things can easily boomerang and will cost a huge political capital on most occasions.

The common opinion across the state is that – “Jagan has spent 16 months in jail in disproportionate assets cases. In all these four and a half years, we have seen Jagan make every attempt to portray Chandrababu as corrupt and sent to jail. But then, not a single allegation is proved. This looks like an attempt to send Chandrababu to jail at least for days with Jagan’s term coming to a close”.
