The news of Gaddar‘s departure has been difficult for fans, artists, and families to accept. Gaddar’s son, Surya alias Surya, has entered politics under his father’s influence. Despite initial aspirations of forming a new party, Surya aligned himself with the Congress party. He joined the party in Delhi in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and was seen wearing a Congress scarf. Surya maintained a positive relationship with the Congress throughout.
Although he initially contemplated starting a new political party, Surya eventually participated in the ‘Praja Garjana’ event organized by the Congress in Khammam. This experience led him to realize that existing parties were a more viable path. Following Gaddar’s passing, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy took personal responsibility, overseeing arrangements for fans to pay their respects, leading the final journey, and arranging the funeral.
Despite the government’s official role, Revanth Reddy’s proactive involvement in the arrangements raised eyebrows. Congress treated Gaddar as one of its own, with Sonia Gandhi sending a letter to Gaddar’s wife to express condolences.
Revanth had previously discussed Surya’s political aspirations with Gaddar and after Gaddar’s death, Revanth aimed to honor his promise and fulfill Gaddar’s last wish by fielding Surya as a candidate for MLA or MP.
Reliable sources suggest that Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly constituency in Hyderabad is being considered for Surya’s potential candidacy. Additionally, there might be a consideration for Revanth himself to contest from the Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency. The Congress appears to want to support Gaddar’s family by providing Surya with a ticket, seeing him as a way to continue the legacy of a respected figure like Gaddar.
