In his Instagram post, Vijay called Rashmika his best friend and wife, describing her as one of the most beautiful parts of his life that he had got right.
If it’s me and her against the world, so be it ❤️, he wrote before ending the post with a blunt message to his critics: “Now, with absolutely no intended kindness or respect, everyone else can go f*ck themselves. :))”
However, his choice of words has drawn backlash from some social media users. One user wrote, “Vijay Deverakonda’s post says more about his ego than his marriage.
A man who is genuinely secure in his relationship doesn’t need to turn a declaration of love into a public display of arrogance, followed by an abusive message to everyone who disagrees with him.”
Another user commented, “He still appears to be in Arjun Reddy mode.”
The controversy began after Vijay and Rashmika appeared together on Koffee with Karan 9 and spoke about their relationship and marriage. Vijay’s comment that Rashmika had asked him about marriage 100 times became a massive talking point, with some viewers trolling his remarks and questioning his attitude.

She also defended her choices, bashed fake feminism, expressed her happiness with Vijay, and questioned the criticism directed at her family.
