Galla Aruna’s Political Re-Entry!!

Galla-Aruna-Back-Direct-PoliticsIt seems that former Minister Galla Aruna Kumari is considering a re-entry into Andhra Pradesh politics. After the division of the state, Galla Aruna has been absent from active politics in Andhra Pradesh. She had held various portfolios in the earlier Congress government. Following the state’s division, she joined the TDP but lost the 2014 election to CheviReddy Bhaskar Reddy in the Chandragiri segment.

Along with Galla Aruna, her son Jayadev also joined TDP and won twice in a row from Guntur to Parliament. Last year, Galla Aruna resigned from the TDP politburo membership but continued to be associated with the party. After she stepped away from active politics, Pulavarthi Nani was announced as in-charge for Chandragiri, but he also lost the election in 2019.

According to reliable sources, Galla Aruna is once again interested in making a comeback into direct politics and has sent signals to Chandrababu Naidu to contest from the Chandragiri segment. One of the reasons behind her potential re-entry into politics is to maintain the Galla family’s legacy in politics.

The Galla family has been involved in politics for many years. Galla Jayadev, after his stint in Amara Raja, has not shown much interest in politics and spends most of his time in Delhi. To ensure that the family’s political legacy is not lost, Galla Aruna seems to be considering a re-entry into active politics.
